Boy gets on the subway in the big city of NY with his friends.
Sits next to me talking away to his friends.
Riding for minutes when suddenly he looks to his right
and says
"Whoa! Hi Dad!
I didn't even notice you were there.
What are you doing here?"
We are so caught up in our lives in NYC we don't even notice
our parent happens to be sitting next us.
Freaky to see but funny
and true!!
Sometimes despite all the shit
Despite all the hopelessness
Despite having given up,
Despite the bleak chance that ANYTHING will turn in your favor
Despite it ALL
Life drops a huge gift in your arms and says,
"Play with it, AND ENJOY IT!"
So I will!!!!
After all, I DESERVE IT!

It's all good
Sometimes people there to support you
Sometimes you're just on your own.
Alone
Even surrounded by people, ALONE
That's just the way life is.
But you can make it on your own.
Not by choice but out of necessity.
And that is ok.
Where does love fit in all that.
Love life for it's good qualities.
Love people for who they are and expect no more
Love yourself for doing the best you can
Just keep living your life and loving yourself first because
most of the time especially in America no one else is gonna or has the "time' to love you enough to make you
wanted, needed, special, or make you feel like they've got your back and that you are not alone.
That's just the cycle of life.
Live it.
